The Advertiser Class 1A-4A All-Metro girls basketball team, honorable mentions and coach of the year.

Player of the year: Cordasia Harris, Central-Hayneville

FIRST-TEAM ALL-METRO

Cordasia Harris, Central-Hayneville, Sr., F, 6-0

Class 2A first-team All-State. Finished with 24.1-point and 12-rebound averages, leading the Lions in rebounding in every game. Also recorded a team-best 87 steals, plus 75 blocks. Reached 30 points seven times. Totaled 29 points and 24 rebounds in a Southwest Regional semifinal win over Washington County before posting 13 points and 13 rebounds in regional final win over Aliceville. Two-time All-Metro.

Ella Jane Connell, Prattville Christian, So., G, 5-8

Class 3A first-team All-State. Led the Panthers to their second 30-win season, averaging 15.8 points with 4.9 assists and 3.6 steals. Has scored 1,116 career points to be the first PCA player to reach 1K as a sophomore. Two-time All-State. Two-time All-Metro.

Skye Harris, Pike Road, Jr., G, 5-7

Class 3A third-team All-State. Finished with a 12 1/2-point average to help the Patriots, in just their second full varsity season, advance to the state semifinals. Transferred from Brewbaker Tech and has scored 1,126 career points.

Derrica McCall, Central-Hayneville, Sr., G, 5-8

Class 2A second-team All-State. Averaged 16 points with seven assists and six rebounds. Shot 51 percent from the field. Helped Central-Hayneville reach the state semifinals for the first time in school history. Three-time All-State. Three-time All-Metro.

Emma Kate Smith, Trinity, Fr., G, 5-7

Class 4A All-State honorable mention. Posted a 16-point average, draining 112 3-pointers. Had a 36-point game vs. BTW Magnet that included a city-record 10 3-pointers. Drained at least six 3-pointers in six games, helping the Wildcats go 22-8 and reach the Southeast Regional.

SECOND-TEAM ALL-METRO

Madi Caddell, Montgomery Academy, Jr., G, 5-7

Class 3A All-State honorable mention. Averaged an MA-best 12.7 points. Helped the Eagles compile a 24-8 record for their 10th 20-win season in 11 years.

Tameria Thomas, Pike Road, Sr., C, 6-4

Averaged 7 points and 10 1/2 rebounds for the 3A semifinalist Patriots, who finished 28-5. Finished with 22 double-doubles in Pike Road’s 33 games, including a 17-point, 17-rebound effort vs. 20-win 6A Park Crossing.

Leighton Robertson, Montgomery Academy, Jr., G, 5-8

Worked through multiple leg injuries to help the Eagles capture a regional berth for the 19th time in 24 seasons. Averaged 10 points and 6.2 rebounds with 3.4 steals. Two-time All-Metro.

Sheria Clement, Pike Road, Jr., G, 5-3

Had averages of 10.6 points and 7.2 assists, totaling 11 double-doubles. Has 1,341 career points. Scored a season-high 23 points vs. 20-win 6A G.W. Carver.

CoCo Thomas, Prattville Christian, Fr., F, 5-11

Inside force for the Panthers, compiling 9.6-point and 7.9-rebound averages. Posted seven double-doubles with season highs of 19 points and 18 rebounds.

Alabama Chr.: Michaelyn Manning, Mary Hall; Catholic: Lorren Pharrams, Nona Johnson; LAMP: Caitlin Russell; Montgomery Aca.: Gabby Ramirez; Pike Road: Sakoya Knight; Prattville Chr.: Jacey Haynes; St. James: Seanna Brooks, KK Hall; Trinity: Maddie Smith.

COACH OF THE YEAR

Blake Smith, Trinity

Directed the Wildcats, who featured just one senior on the roster, to just their second 20-win season in the last 20 years. Helped Trinity reach the Class 4A Southeast Regional semifinals, the school’s second straight regional berth but just its fourth in 20 years. Has a 126-106 record in nine seasons after this year’s 22-8 finish. Two-time All-Metro coach of the year.
