ALL-METRO FIRST TEAM
Tyree Curry, Evangel Christian, Jr., G, 6-0
AISA first-team All-State. Averaged 15 points and 4.5 assists to help the Lions win the Class A championship. In regular-season meetings, had 19 points and seven assists vs. eventual Class AAA champ Tuscaloosa Academy and 16 points against eventual Class AA champ Lakeside. Two-time state tournament most valuable player. Two-time All-Metro.
Octavious Palmer, Autauga Academy, Sr., F, 6-5
AISA first-team All-State. Posted a 17.3-point average with 5.9 rebounds to lead the Generals to a runner-up Class AA finish, their third runner-up finish in four years. Was Autauga’s only double-figure scorer. Autauga had a 15-4 record.
Jakolvian Johnson, Evangel Christian, Sr., C, 6-6
AISA third-team All-State. Played with a torn knee ligament all season but helped propel the Lions to a 28-1 championship season. Averaged 7.4 points and 6.9 rebounds. Had five double-doubles. Evangel has made the state semifinals 15 times in 18 years.
Holden Hollingshead, Hooper, Sr., G, 6-0
AISA All-State honorable mention. Registered a 20.4-point average, scoring a season-high 31 twice. Totaled 967 points in his final three varsity seasons. Led the Colts to a 12-14 record. Two-time All-Metro.
Robert Stewart, Edgewood, Sr., G, 6-0
AISA All-State honorable mention. Led the Wildcats with a 13.3-point average. Added 5.0 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game, helping Edgewood compile a 16-9 season. Two-time All-Metro.
ALL-METRO SECOND TEAM
David Werking Jr., Evangel Christian, Sr., G, 6-1
AISA All-State honorable mention. Was Evangel’s second-leading scorer at 10.1 points per game, one of five Lions to average at least 7.3. Evangel won its third state title in four years and eighth overall.
Asa Button, Eastwood, Sr., G, 6-1
Finished with 16.8-point and 7.5-rebound averages for the Warriors, who were 1-18. Averaged 18.7 points per game over the last two years. Two-time All-Metro.
Teddy Harris, Autauga Academy, Jr., G, 5-8
Averaged 9.6 points to help the Generals record a fourth straight winning season.
Kaleb Varner, Edgewood, Sr., F, 6-1
Posted 10.4-point and 5.6-rebound averages to help the Wildcats make the AISA semifinals for the fifth time in seven years.
Porter Henry, Hooper, Jr., F, 6-1
Scored 12.2 points per game as the Colts reached double-figure wins for the seventh time in 10 seasons.

COACH OF THE YEAR
Kerwin Washington, Evangel Christian
Again molded an unselfish team that dominated the AISA. Helped the Lions roll to a 28-1 season that set a school record for wins and won a third state championship in four years. Eclipsed the 27-win school record set in 2011, tied in 2012 and tied again in 2019. Had five players average at least 7.3 points. Is 162-69 in eight seasons. Two-time All-Metro coach of the year.
